As states begin to wrap up their primaries and the time is winding down for the GOP to pick their nominee, more insight into President Obama’s campaign strategy is buzzing in the media.

In 2008, Hillary Clinton made significant strides in the race for the Democratic Nominee, she was (and still remains) a favorite amongst women voters. During President Obama’s first term he appointed Mrs. Clinton Secretary of State, making her an important ally in his administration.

Now 4 years later he is up for re-election and winning the women’s vote will be vital in defeating the GOP ultra-conservative regime. In 2008 Obama won women over by 18%. Some analysts say that the support given by Hillary Clinton was a major contribution. Due to the apolitical role of the Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton will not be able to campaign with President Obama.

Her husband former President Bill Clinton, has stated that he will be on the campaign trail. They currently have three fundraisers scheduled together in
the coming weeks.

Though Mitt Romney has not secured the GOP nomination- he’s in the top spot and speculation into who his VP nominee will be has arised. New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez is amongst the prospects and her being a Hispanic minority female may be a chess move for Romney in garnering both female and minority votes. {Note this scenario is purely hypothetical.}

Will Hillary’s lessend prescense have any affect on Obama’s relationship with women voters at the polls or is the visibility of at least one Clinton’s support sufficient? Do you think Mitt Romney appeals to female voters?
