Powerful black women in entertainment have been making their rounds on the campaign trial lately for the Obama Administration. Our favorite musicians and actresses are using their celebrity and tapping into their fan base to push voting initiatives and to help close the gap in November, ensuring that President Obama gets another term.

Recently, Nia Long attended an Obama  Fundraiser and is the cover woman of Essence Magazine this month, where she mentioned that she is doing some traveling and press junkits on behalf of President Obama. She also took to YouTube and created a video professing her support for our President.

Queen Bey (Beyonce) has also been doing her part, a couple of months ago she penned an open letter to First Lady Michelle, highlighting the love and admiration she has for the First Lady. She posted the letter to her tumblr page but has now created this viral video to gather even more attention. Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z have be-friended the President & First Lady over the course of the past four years, with Beyonce performing at the inaugural ceremonies.

And most recently, the ever so beautiful and talented Mrs. Alicia Keys (Dean), joined the Women for Obama movement last night in Philadelphia for an event. She met and interacted with a group of young women and even gave a speech about the importance of being involved and re-electing President Obama. She took to her instagram and twitter pages to share the experience with her followers and was very exctied to be involved.

Our favorite celebrities are taking an ACTIVE role in the election, are we? To be honest, they have every reason not to be the least bit pressed. All of the above mentioned women are wealthy and well into their careers, so no matter who’s in office thier lifestyles aren’t likely to change. They understand the importance of how electing President Obama for another term will affect their childrens’ future and even the affects of their supporters.

Check Beyonce & Nia’s videos below and Spill the Beans on how you are getting ACTIVE!
