Technology advancement and politics have married each other quite frequently over the past years; this year is no different. In the 2008 election, President Obama’s campaign did a great job of getting the technology age involved in the campaign, via text messages and iPhone applications.

This year, presidential candidate, Mitt Romney has introduced an app that is compatible for android and iPhone that will allow everyone to know who his choice for VP candidate is.  The push notification allows users to receive a message on their screen once the decision is ready to go public. Young voters are likely to connect to anything that seems trendy or appealing to their everyday culture. What say’s “young and hip” more than an iPhone app?

The Romney camp has initiated mobile ads to promote the downloading the app as well. The app is named, “Who Will be Mitt’s VP?”

Is this an attempt to engage younger voters or gather some enthusiasim about his selection? What are your thoughts?
