Gabrielle Giffords announced earlier this year that she would focus on her rehabilitation instead of returing to Congress, after being shot in the head at a townhall meeting in 2011. Arizona Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords announced Sunday evening that she would be stepping down from her Congressional seat to focus on her health and recovery, as a result of being struck in the head by a bullet during a townhall meeting last year.
