Students and supporters of higher education spoke up to their representatives and Congress had no choice but to listen. Just before breaking for holiday recess the House and the Senate voted on measures to appropriate money for highway construction & repairs and most importantly to NOT DOUBLE FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN INTEREST RATES!!!!!! Both sides of the aisle came together on this one, with overwhelming majorities on the issues- House vote 373-52 and the Senate 74-19. Wondering if this sudden urge to work together has anything to do with the election thats 4 months away? (our thoughts also)...

The American educational system is sometimes a hot topic in politics but most recently it hasn't been present in political debates but instead in snide remarks. Over the weekend GOP Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum stated to a crowd "Obama wants everyone to go to college, what a snob." (Note in Santorum's eyes if you value education your a snob) Santorum's...

Maybe that was the case for the state of Indiana where a displaced $320 million dollars that allegedly accumulated from taxes since 2007 was found.
