It seems that the Republican-led House of Representatives has been ruling with an iron fist when it comes to ethical matters of it's members. Not to say making sure Members of Congress are compliant with Ethics Rules is a bad thing (essentially thats why we have the rules), but it does seem to be a coincidence that as of lately the investigations have been with minority or women members. Late Monday,  the Committee on Ethics announced that they would be launching an investigation into Rep. Shelley Berkley's (D-NV) affairs. The conflict arises from Berkley's advocacy in keeping a Kidney Transplant...

You may have seen headlines about the Fast & Furious controversy; this time it isn't another movie featuring Vin Diesel or Ludacris. This controversy is surrounding Attorney General Eric Holder. Yesterday a house committee voted to hold Holder in contempt of Congress, in relation to his failure to turnover sensitive documents in connection with a weapons sting titled "Fast and Furious". The sting operations were implemented between 2006-2011 surrounding gun trafficking between bordering states in the South & Southwest sectors of the United States and Mexico. **UPDATE** Since last week when we first published the Trayvon Martin story thousands of Americans have banned together in support of justice for Trayvon Martin. Many elected officials have also spoke out including President Obama who stated, "If I had a son he would look like Trayvon Martin". The President has received much scrutiny from the GOP front runners calling his comments racist and etc (but we all know thats far fetched). It is unfortunate that we report that today Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) was kicked off of the House Floor after speaking out about the controversey with a hood on. Presiding...

Congresswoman Barbara Lee is a six term member of Congress, representing California's 9th District. She was elected to Congress in 1998 and became the first woman to hold the 9th District Seat. She began her political career as an intern in the office of her predecessor Congressman Ron Dellums, where she worked her way up to becoming his Chief of Staff. Rep. Lee had a seemingly untraditional route to Capitol Hill, first being a single mother of two while attending college she went on to receive a Masters degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of California Berkely and worked as a social...

Arizona Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords announced Sunday evening that she would be stepping down from her Congressional seat to focus on her health and recovery, as a result of being struck in the head by a bullet during a townhall meeting last year. Giffords was one of 13 people wounded, while 6 others were killed. Though it seemed that Rep. Giffords had experienced a speedy recovery and returned back to the House of Representatives in the latter part of 2011, her wounds haven't completely healed. Her speech was severly affected in the assassination attempt and is one of the of the areas that...
