During last week after poor performances in New Hampshire and South Carolina, two GOP Presidentials hopefuls have dropped out of the race. First on Monday Jon Huntsman made his announcement and provided his endorsement for Mitt Romney stating he was "best equipped to defeat Barack Obama". Huntsman who kept a seemingly low profile during the course of the GOP race, had been up and down in the polls due in part to his merely moderate conservative beliefs. Some argue that on the greater scale if he could survive the nominee race his moderate views could have appealed to independent voters to give...

Bad Day to be Rick

The “Ricks” are having the worst week ever! Tuesday night was the New Hampshire primary. After the close and game-changing results of the Iowa caucus, I couldn’t wait to see the results of this primary. The winner of the primary was Mitt Romney, not much of a surprise there. In second place was Ron Paul. Where did Rick Santorum land in this primary? After such a great victory in Iowa, you might expect him to do well. Quite the contrary, Santorum found himself in the back of the pack, in fifth place. Santorum’s campaign spent 5 days in New Hampshire, a move that many strategists are calling...

Over the weekend ABC News held the Republican New Hampshire Debate and minus Michele Bachmann the #WolfPack came out in full force. Discussing a range of topics each man attempted to bring his A-game in advancing for the number 1 spot. Rick Santorum who finished strong at the Iowa Caucus came for President Obama calling him "clearly a Chicago politician" and stating that his (Obama) administration has made us soft. Santorum was rather confusing when questioned about his views on gay marriage- (still not clear if it's a state or federal issue). Huntsman developed his appeal to liberals and moderate...

The votes are in and there were definitely a few surprises. Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney ended the Iowa caucus pretty much in a tie. Romney ended with a 8 vote lead over Santorum. Admittedly, these results weren’t completely unexpected; candidate Santorum spent plenty of campaign time and money in Iowa expecting a big payoff. Exactly how long can Santorum keep up this momentum? The fact of the matter is he does not have the same resources, support, and finances that Mitt Romney has. It will take a lot of energy and supporters for Santorum to gain a win. On top of that, former presidential...

All Is Fair In Love & Politics

With the Iowa caucus just one week away, GOP Presidential hopefuls are pulling out all the stops to target conservative voters in the Hawkeye State. The two veterans of the group Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich, were at odds with one another over the Christmas break. Over the past week, both men experienced negative press that could potentially hurt their chances with voters. In an effort to deter the public from his "spanish is the language of the ghetto" comments, Gingrich came straight for Paul this weekend. Gingrich criticized Paul's knowledge of National Security stating that he is "the only...

And the soap opera continue... Days of Our lives, Young and the Restless, and Herman Cain's presidential race, what do all these have in common? Well, for starters, they all have villains, plot climaxes, cliffhangers, and what’s a scandal without a high profile affair? The Herman Cain sexual allegations were pushed to another notch yesterday when a businesswoman in Atlanta, Georgia came forward about a 13 year extra-marital affair she claims she had with presidential hopeful. Ginger White claimed, “I was aware he was married, and I was also aware that I was involved in a very inappropriate...

And the winner is… Newt Gingrich Last night’s debate was another installment of the ongoing wrestling match. The CNN GOP(Grand Old Party aka Republican Party) Debate proved to be a great night for presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich. Questions going into the debate surrounded around whether any candidate would be able to stand out. As Gingrich begins to climb in the polls, all eyes were on him as soon as the curtains were drawn. Some of the biggest topics of the debate were: The Patriot Act, immigration, and whether the United States should provide aid to Pakistan. Rick Perry proved...

“They Really Gon’ Be Mad About this Next Move…”

Over the weekend GOP candidates converged in South Carolina for another round of debates. This time the top contenders of the Grand Old Party, took a less controversial approach and discussed their views on foreign affairs. A new day but a not so new approach, with the typical amount of shade thrown towards their satisfaction with Obama's current action. Attempting to redeem himself from his stutter blooper earlier in the week, Texas Governor Rick Perry spear-headed the conversation with the ZERO Approach, in which he offered his strategy towards foreign affairs was reducing the amount of foreign...

It was no holds barred and no person sparred in the CNN GOP debate hosted in Las Vegas, NV and moderated by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. The hot topic issues included immigration, healthcare, foreign affairs and defense spending. Notably missing from the line-up of topics was education which is a crucial matter that deserves attention from all levels of government. Fan favorites Mitt Romney and Rick Perry went head to head after Perry accused Romney of hiring immigrants in his businesses. Perry not only went after Romney but threw jabs at moderator Anderson Cooper when Cooper attempted to get a direct...

The seed was planted months ago; Texas Governor Rick Perry has flirted with the idea of running for President for a while now. Saturday, August 13th Governor Perry will officially announce his bid for presidency in South Carolina. Why South Carolina? Historically, South Carolina has always been a great determinant of who receives the Republican nomination. It is believed by many political scientists, if you can win South Carolina, then you can win the election. Rick Perry is not the politician that flies under the radar; he has undergone great criticism and support from Texans. After being...
