The “Ricks” are having the worst week ever! Tuesday night was the New Hampshire primary. After the close and game-changing results of the Iowa caucus, I couldn’t wait to see the results of this primary. The winner of the primary was Mitt Romney, not much of a surprise there. In second place was Ron Paul.

Where did Rick Santorum land in this primary? After such a great victory in Iowa, you might expect him to do well. Quite the contrary, Santorum found himself in the back of the pack, in fifth place. Santorum’s campaign spent 5 days in New Hampshire, a move that many strategists are calling idiotic. He invested precious time that he could have used elsewhere. The month of January has two primaries left, with the next one being in South Carolina. Santorum has only visited South Carolina on his campaign trail once. In addition to lack of publicity in South Carolina, Santorum needs to raise more money to separate himself from Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich. No campaign can run off of dollars and pennies.

Rick Perry came in sixth in the polls but doesn’t seem to be bothered. Perry has put all his apples and oranges into South Carolina. Perry’s conservative views are expected to be received very well in South Carolina. The Texas governor stated, “We want South Carolina to be that place that gives us the second wind, if you will.” To be quite honest, Rick Perry’s campaign needs a win…and fast.

One thing for sure is Romney is the front runner and unless he has a few mistresses coming out of the closet, it looks like that’s going to stay that way.
