NBC and The Wall Street Journal have released their polls, displaying who is closest in line to receive the Republican nomination. As expected, Mitt Romney has remained steadfast and is in first place, but what is interesting is the person behind him. Within a month, Representative Michele Bachmann has gone from 3 percent support to 16 percent support. If there was a contest for ‘Miss Popular,” there is no doubt she would win!
The Tea Party continues to support “Miss Popular,” while Mitt Romney barely maintains a lead in that area. The Tea Party supporters will make a great difference in who becomes the Republican choice. As time continues to pass, we can expect Bachmann to continue receiving major support in her Presidential bid.
The third place contestant is Texas Governor Rick Perry at 11 percent. Perry has yet to concretely decide on a Presidential run at this moment; this could very well be a tactic by his team to see what type of support he could get if he did file his bid.
The poll conducted included 1,000 eligible voters from July 14th-17th.
Can Michele Bachmann do what Hillary Clinton was unable to do, and become the 1st United States Female President?
